Primary Activities: Producers/Content Creators

Primary activities are the content creators of each project – the knowledge, know-how and creative product that is the basis of any film. Arguably, without these activities, no production work would take place. Primary activities and those who carry them out include:

• Screenwriters
• Directors
• Producers – Feature Film
• Producers – Television (incl. drama, documentary, news, reality /entertainment etc.)
• Producers – Television Commercials
• Producers – Stills Photography
• Producers – Animation / Video Games

In feature film production, these primary activities are generally known as above-the-line expenditures, which are usually negotiated or spent before filming begins.
