If you are dealing with an individual or a group face-to-face or on the phone and you feel yourself getting upset – take a slow, deep breath, collect yourself, and think before you say anything. Once the words come out, it is more difficult to correct the damage. Remind yourself NOT to say anything that you will regret later.
It’s a small world when it comes to film, television and commercial production. Stories of bad behavior get around. Better that it is someone else and not you. Better yet – that word gets out about how professional and pleasant you are to work with. That may sound trite, but attitude is a big part of choosing whom to work with in the future.
