• Do be creative and think outside of the box
• Do handle problems – if you need help, ask a fellow AFCI member
• Do remain professional, even when others are not
• Do share success stories of your constituents/partners
• Do say “Thank You” by card, email or phone call
• Do your best to meet the production’s location and project needs
• Do represent your jurisdiction in its best interest and remember that positive and negative experiences are often shared
• Do NOT ever release any information about a production to the press or anyone without the appropriate production representative’s permission
• Do NOT send negative emails
• Do NOT post negative social media comments
• Do NOT charge a fee to filmmakers or production companies for film commission services – it is not ethical and it is against the AFCI By-Laws. (You may charge for permits, as required, if your office is the permitting entity)
• Do NOT falsify location photos by manipulation, without full disclosure
• Do NOT gossip – it is a small world – this could come back to you
• Do NOT promise what you KNOW you cannot deliver
• Do enjoy your work and spread your enthusiasm to everyone you come in contact with!
