Once you’ve found the information, make sure you get it out to where it is needed. In particular, make sure you keep on top of all the opportunities that are taking place in your area. This means educational offerings such as training classes, but also film-related events such as screenings and script readings. Take it upon yourself to assemble, manage and disseminate any information you can find that might be useful. Make sure you include some reference to the kinds of information that will allow young filmmakers to operate as self-employed, business-minded individuals.

Some film commissions have a “For Locals” section on their website. Here they will list competitions going on, screenings, special events and other useful information for local filmmakers.
